The Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S. in cooperation with the Paris International Chamber of Commerce and the French Department at the University of Virginia have organized a professional training session in Business French for 15 Ph.D. students from May 29 to June 2, 2017, in Charlottesville, VA.
French Ph.D. students wishing to teach Business French are invited to send their application.
The course, designed by the Paris International Chamber of Commerce (CCIP), is a hands-on training in curriculum and teacher preparation for Business French classes and is structured as follows:
- the specificities of FLE (Français Langue Etrangère - French as a Foreign Language) and FOS (Français Objectif Spécifique - French for Specific Purposes).
- of a French for Business framework.
- educational activities using authentic documents.
- Assessing Business
All participants who successfully finish the training will receive a Certificat de formation « Enseigner le Français des Affaires ».
Registration fee: $100 (non-refundable).
We may be able to secure low-cost housing ($30-40/night) on UVA Grounds, but that is dependent on availability and requires a 10-person commitment. If you are interested in this option, please indicate this with your application.

Important: The committee will review applications as they arrive. The applicants will be informed of their status within a week or two. We strongly encourage the participants to submit their application as early as possible as we can only accept a total of 15 participants. All participants are required to take a free online prerequisite course of approximately 30 hours.
