Come join us for lunch and an artist's talk by noted French photographer Geoffroy Mathieu. Mathieu is known for his uncompromising vision of the French landscape. His work explores how the political, ecological, and the poetic emerge from the everyday. He is increasingly interested in the notion of habitat and how place and space inform the way we (and our animal friends) dwell in the world.

Based in Marseille, Geoffroy Mathieu has exhibited his work in museums, galeries, and festivals around France and Europe, more generally. Many of his series have been published in photo-book form. During the Fall 2024 semester, he will be in residence in Atlanta as part of the French Embassy's Villa Albertine visiting artist program. In Atlanta, he'll be working (and walking) on a project about marginalized communities forced to navigate the city on foot.
