Annual Diploma Ceremony
Each May, on what is often a sunny spring morning, shortly after Final Exercises on the Lawn, the Department of French convenes faculty, students, and their parents and friends to a convivial diploma ceremony in front of the Maison Française. We are extraordinarily proud of the sense of community and collaboration that we foster at UVa French. That sense of community is always on display when we award our students their degrees. We may be biased, but we think our diploma ceremony is among the best, if not the best, on grounds, which our many alumni have confirmed. We also serve the best snacks.
