Prof. Karen James has received the 2023 All-University Teaching Award from the Office of the Provost, which honors dedicated, passionate faculty members who contribute to an environment of excellence, rigor, and academic growth for students. 

This spring she also received the 2023 Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Jefferson Scholars Foundation. The award recognizes university faculty who have demonstrated both excellence in teaching and exceeding care for their students. This award honors teachers who have gone the extra mile in fulfilling their vocation without regard for their own advancement.
