After a one-year hiatus, the Department of French has once again teamed up with the French Embassy to collaborate, along with 8 other universities (including Duke, Florida, Princeton, Illinois, and Yale, among others) in this year's Choix Goncourt USA. Student participants will meet regularly in spring 2026 to discuss the 4 books on the Goncourt shortlist as part of a fun, low-stake book club. In April, the group will send a representative to the deliberation and prize ceremony in New York. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring together French-speaking students (whether they are taking French courses or not) to learn more about the cutting-edge writing coming out of France today.
