Chloé Berr

Chloé Berr is a third-year PhD candidate. She is interested in nineteenth and early twentieth century writings, and especially in the relationship between science and literature. In her dissertation, she would like to study late nineteenth century authors of popular science, namely Camille Flammarion. She would like to explore scientific endeavours of explaining paranormal phenomenon and the occult in literary works. In her bachelor’s and master’s thesis, she worked on the popularization of Astronomy in Camille Flammarion’s Uranie and the influence of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity on Beckett’s theatre.  

She also writes poetry. Her poems were published in Poésie en liberté (2018, 2020), Pourtant (n°7, 2024) and Pagaille (to be published in 2026)
