Nicolas Tamayo

Doctoral Student

Nic Tamayo is a first-year doctoral student in the Department of French. He is interested in researching minimalism in 20th and 21st century French literature, as well as the cultural impacts and phenomena associated with Queer movements of the 20th and 21st centuries.

His professional experiences span a variety of fields including content strategy, freelance journalism, and museum collections. Most recently, he was a 2024-2025 Fellow for the Fulbright Program, where he served as an English Teaching Assistant in Montpellier, France. In Montpellier, he worked at a lycée professionnel, where he developed a deeper multicultural understanding of the French school system and improved his skills in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
