  • LGBTQ Center: Located in the center of Grounds, in Newcomb Hall’s Lower Level (just past the Multicultural Student Center), the LGBTQ Center is a welcoming physical safe space and a programming center for the University of Virginia. https://lgbtq.virginia.edu/lgbtq-center
  • Women’s Center: The Women’s Center contributes to the full flourishing of UVA’s students, faculty, and staff, as well as the Charlottesville community. Affinity and Working Groups for Faculty and Staff

  • Black Faculty and Staff Employee Resource Group: The Black Faculty and Staff-Employee Resource Group (BFSERG) will actively engage in the recruitment, mentorship, collegiality, professional development, and retention of its members as well as promotion of an inclusive environment that will benefit all UVA faculty, administrators, staff, and the Charlottesville community. https://www.uvabfserg.org
  • Latinx Employee Resource Group: The Latinx Employee Resource Group will actively engage working to recruit, welcome, and retain Latinx employees across Grounds through resource sharing, social events, and positive networking opportunities. Its members will work to foster a more inclusive environment for all Latinx members of faculty, administration, and staff. Its members will also build networks and engagement with the Latinx community around Charlottesville and the surrounding areas. http://uvalatinxerg.org/
  • Military Service Veteran Employee Resource Group: The primary purposes of the UVa Military Veterans Community group are to provide networking opportunities, education and informational resources, support and community building, as well as provide an opportunity to serve as an advocate for the veteran community with university leadership as necessary. https://wordpress.its.virginia.edu/Milvets-ec-atUVa/
  • Organization of Employees from Africa: A non-profit organization and resource group of people from the 55 African countries working at UVA. http://oea.sites.virginia.edu/
  • Disability Advocacy & Action Committee: As a subcommittee of the Diversity Council, the purpose of this committee is to serve as a think-tank for improving access, in its broadest sense, at the University of Virginia. https://dei.virginia.edu/disability-advocacy-action-committee
  • LGBT Committee: The LGBT Committee is charged with discussing and addressing items of interest to the LGBT community, reviewing best practices of other institutions, making regular reports to the diversity council about the work of the group, providing recommendations where appropriate to the Diversity Council and/or senior administration, and strategizing as to how to implement recommendations. https://dei.virginia.edu/lgbt-committee

  • Contemplative sciences: The mission of the Contemplative Sciences Center (CSC) is to advance the study and application of human flourishing at all levels of education—K-12, undergraduate, graduate, professional, and lifelong.
